Meet our new pastor
The people who make a Sunday happen.
The Bridge Church is led by Pastor Michael Barnett and carried, week after week, by a handful of volunteers. Here is who they are, what each one does between the first chair going out and the last cup of coffee, and how you can pick up a piece of it yourself.
Pastor Michael Barnett
Michael's road, one stop at a time. It runs from north county San Diego to Minnesota and, after sixteen years of service, back home to a clubhouse on Barham Drive.
Home ground
North county San Diego
Michael grew up here, in north county San Diego, long before he ever stood at the front of a church.
1995
Married Michelle
He married his wife, Michelle, in 1995.
Weeks later
Minnesota
Within weeks they moved to Minnesota to re-plant a church. It grew from 12 people to well over 100, peaking around 250 on big events.
In between
Two children
Their two children were born in Minnesota.
After 16 years
Back to San Marcos
After 16 years of service, the family moved back home to San Marcos, California.
Off the clock
Hiking, fishing, traveling and reading.
Especially enjoys teaching people how to connect with God by having a daily quiet time… The result is more love, joy, peace, wisdom, purpose, abundance and freedom in their everyday lives.
From Pastor Michael’s bio. You can hear that teaching in the Sunday messages.

Set-Up Team
The guys that make it happen every Sunday. The chairs, the stage and the clubhouse hall are ready because they got there first.
At the door
Welcome Team
Led by Cindy Marks. They are the first faces you meet, and they will hand you the programme with the message outline, a communication card for prayer requests and an offering envelope.
9:50
Dream Team
Led by Audrey Norling. Sign-in for ages 3 to 12 starts at the mobile classroom outside the main church, and the class runs from 10:00 to 11:15.

Worship Team
Drums and guitars, mostly upbeat, with Carlos on keyboard. Past visitors have written that the music is fantastic, and it is the part of the morning that sets the pace.

Shred Dog Surf Camp, 2023
The team does not stop at the clubhouse door
In the summer of 2023 the church held three Shred Dog Surf Camps. About a dozen or more kids learned how to surf for the first time, and some older folks got taught too. In the church’s own words, a good time was had by all and it was a great time of fellowship for the church family.

Come and become involved yourself.
We would love to pray for you or help you in any way we can. You can also contact us to learn more about our mission and work, or to become involved yourself. Every team above started with someone saying yes to one Sunday. Find the clubhouse on Barham Drive, or see how giving keeps the lights on.
